Hutch Underwriting launch new construction policy

[SYDNEY, NSW]

Hutch Underwriting to launch an innovative new annual construction insurance policy on EBIX Sunrise Exchange on Friday 16th June.

After releasing its unique cyber-enhanced residential strata product just six months ago, Hutch is becoming known for launching innovative digital products into capacity-constrained segments.

“We’re very pleased to be able to offer brokers another option in the very tight construction market, and we hope our unique coverage, focus on service, and the efficiency of Sunrise integration will prove real differentiators”, said Robin Johnson, CEO of Hutch.

The new Annual Construction product is targeted at residential and commercial builders with a turnover of up to $50m. It includes several enhancements, as Dominique Vagi, Hutch’s Chief Underwriting Officer, explains:

“We offer flexible options that allow brokers to tailor coverage to meet their clients’ needs and budgets, including existing structures cover, display homes and their contents, plant and equipment, care custody and control and pollution liability, and flexible sublimits and excesses.

“We also take pride in being the first in the market to include built-in Cyber protection in response to the increasing threat of cybercrime, which poses a significant risk to our client base.”

Hutch has invested in construction expertise by bringing on industry veteran Marco Sulser with twenty years of experience in Construction and Engineering, including at Zurich, QBE and Pen, and Rheece Tunnell, another 15-year-plus experienced construction underwriter formerly at ATC.

Dominique commented, “We’ve hired a strong team to ensure we can provide brokers with market-leading service to match our product. Brokers should expect to complete auto-quotes in six minutes and to see very rapid turnaround times on referrals – that has been the secret to our success in Strata, where we’ve achieved 94% satisfaction scores.”

Hutch’s innovative policy will be available to brokers digitally via the convenience of Sunrise Exchange under product code HUTCON.
