Hutch Underwriting enters Financial Lines market with the hire of Ross Chambers

Financial Lines Launch Imminent

Hutch Underwriting has hired experienced PI underwriting manager Ross Chambers in preparation for its entry into the Fin Lines market in the coming months.

We hope our brokers will find our great service and innovative wordings as compelling in Professional Indemnity as it’s proven in our other lines”, said Robin Johnson, CEO.

This will be Hutch’s third product launch since bursting into the market with an innovative Strata product via Sunrise and SCTP in November 2022 and a ground-breaking Construction package on Sunrise in June 2023. Both products include unique cyber coverage as standard.

Broad Appetite, Deep Experience

Ross will launch Hutch's PI policy on Ebix Sunrise Exchange in the coming quarter, with a broad appetite for Architects and Engineers, Real Estate, Accountants, IT Consultants, Allied Health and other miscellaneous services. Capacity is provided by Lloyd’s and all claims will be handled onshore in Australia.

Ross brings deep PI experience, most recently as State Manager for NSW, ACT & WA for Solution Underwriting. Ross started his career as a broker with JLT in Adelaide before joining their Thistle underwriting team in 2014, specialising in Professional Indemnity.

Ross commented, “It’s a hugely exciting opportunity to build a Fin Lines portfolio from scratch, and especially so when backed up with the proven tech and resources that Hutch has.
