Hutch Underwriting unveils zero-key quote & bind process leveraging AI and Ebix Sunrise Exchange
Brokers can now obtain Sunrise quotes from an email submission in any format, eliminating keying throughout the placement process.
[SYDNEY, TUESDAY 12 MAY 2026] – Hutch Underwriting has launched Dawn, a service that quotes email submissions in minutes and uploads the quote to the broker’s Ebix Sunrise Exchange, Australia’s largest and only independent insurance trading platform. Binding via Sunrise populates the broker management system and completes the process, eliminating all manual data entry.
Dawn is now live for Hutch’s Residential Strata, Professional Indemnity products, with Management Liability expected within weeks. Eventually Dawn will be rolled out across Hutch’s full product suite.
Brokers can submit their proposal form in any format (PDF, Word, Excel, or plain email) to dawn@ai.hutchunderwriting.com.au.
Dawn emails the broker the premium and quote number, then uploads the quote to Sunrise Exchange, ready for review and binding. To proceed, the broker retrieves the quote from Sunrise, validates it, and binds.
“Many brokers love the back-end convenience of Sunrise, but not the manual typing in of the submission. We’ve invested in Dawn so they can have the best of both worlds,” said Robin Johnson, CEO of Hutch Underwriting.
Brokers do not need to use a Hutch proposal form – Dawn will process any market form. If vital data is missing, the broker can complete the fields once the quote is opened in Sunrise.
