Overview
As Underwriting Manager for our General Liability offering, you have responsibility for building our portfolio nationwide.
Building on the back of success in Strata, Construction and Professional Indemnity, we’re launching a fully digital General Liability suite of products distributed via brokers and transacted online using Ebix Sunrise Exchange and SCTP.
We plan to launch an innovative digital TradePack by year end, which will leverage our existing distribution, but have broad appetite for all occupations including some higher risk areas such as hospitality, childcare and aged care.

Underwriting Manager, General Liability Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Underwriting Officer, you will have full Profit & Loss responsibility for the portfolio, including:
Portfolio Development
- Developing a high-quality revenue stream nationwide
- Onboarding brokers nationwide to our system
- Nurturing relationships
- Delivering our service level promise
Portfolio Management
- Working with the CUO to analyse portfolio data and refine rating and selection algorithms to optimise outcomes for stakeholders
- Working with our tech team to optimise the system
- Working with claims team to track trends and issues.
Team Management
Build a team of underwriters to help develop the business and deliver great service levels.
About You
Qualifications & Experience
You’re a university graduate who fell into insurance after a brief but unfulfilling stint in another industry. You’ve been writing Liability (or maybe BizPack) for seven years or more and have built great broker relationships nationwide.
Your main specialty is General Liability (or BizPack), but you’ve dabbled in other lines of business. You’ve had some exposure to Trades, Construction, and perhaps even designed a product in this space.
You see the opportunity to transform insurance with tech, and don’t want to spend another minute of your day doing pointless admin.
You’re outgoing, but like technical insurance work and numbers, and understand all the nerdy twists and turns of Liabs policies and legislation.
