Ben brings over 20 years of insurance experience to his role as Claims Operations Manager, with a career spanning motor, property, and workers compensation. His background includes managing large, fast-paced teams across claims, recoveries and third-party settlements, and delivering service excellence in both specialist and large general insurance settings.

Starting out in niche motor insurance, Ben developed a keen understanding of technical risk and customer expectations spanning across performance, prestige and youth-oriented portfolios. He later transitioned into broader claims leadership roles within high-volume general insurance environments, before gaining further perspective in workers compensation, leading complex portfolios across both small and large corporate clients.

Ben says that stepping into an AGILE-based innovation hub during that time helped light the spark for his passion for process improvement, with a strong focus on customer experience as the end result. That experience fuelled his recent work in commercial motor claims transformation, where he collaborated with operational specialists and consultants to reimagine and streamline claims processes.

At Hutch, Ben is focused on building a claims service that’s personal, responsive and reliable, ensuring that when brokers and their clients need support, they can count on a team that knows them and acts quickly. He’s excited to bring a forward-thinking, tech-enabled lens to claims operations and support Hutch’s ongoing push for smarter, simpler service.

Outside of work, Ben enjoys road trips, discovering new places to eat, and spending time with his children. A lifelong learner, he regularly attends webinars and workshops and most recently exploring the use of AI bots to enhance product and market research.
