How do I submit a quote to Dawn?

How to use Hutch's email ingestion service

Email your client's proposal form to Dawn in any format, using any market form.  Dawn reads the submission, populates the Sunrise quote form automatically, and places the quote in your Sunrise import queue. You review, declare, and bind. No re-keying required at either end.

Submissions are processed within minutes. If any data is missing, you can complete the fields after opening the quote in Sunrise.

Dawn is available for Residential Strata, Professional Indemnity, with Management Liability coming soon.

How do I submit a quote via Dawn?

  1. Email your submission to Dawn dawn@ai.hutchunderwriting.com.au using your existing market form and state which product you're after
  2. Dawn emails back an indicative premium and/or reference number, and uploads the quote to Sunrise for you
  3. Use the reference number to retrieve the quote from your Sunrise IMPORT list.
  4. Review, validate and bind within Sunrise

That's it. No Hutch-specific form required.

Can I use my own proposal form with Dawn?

Yes. Dawn will process any market form. You do not need to use a Hutch-specific form. For Professional Indemnity, using the Hutch PI form improves accuracy (but it is not required).

What formats does Dawn accept?

Dawn accepts PDF, Word, Excel, plain text, and email body text. PDF is optimal.

How long does Dawn take to process a submission?

Submissions are processed within minutes. You will receive an email with your premium and quote number once the quote is ready in your Sunrise import queue. If a submission requires underwriter review, our team will respond to you directly via Sunrise,  within four business hours (or within one business day during peak periods).

How to access your PDF quote schedule

Once Dawn has processed your submission:

  1. Per the above, retrieve your quote within Sunrise and click the “Validate” button
  2. Once the quote status is acceptable, click "return to BMS", which takes you back to your broking system
  3. When back in your broking system, click “Save/ Suspend” (or equivalent) - this automatically generates the quote schedule within Sunrise
  4. Re-access your quote by going back into Sunrise
  5. The PDF quote schedule will be available under the “Documents” tab for you to click and download.

These updates should help ensure documents are generated and accessible more consistently within the workflow.

Do I need to be an Ebix Sunrise user to use Dawn?

Yes. Dawn populates the Ebix Sunrise Exchange quote form and places quotes in your Sunrise import queue. You will need an active Sunrise account to retrieve and bind Dawn quotes. Dawn does not work with SCTP.

What if I don't have Sunrise integrated with my BMS?

We recognise that about 5% of brokers don't have access to Sunrise via their BMS. In this case, Ebix can offer a standalone Sunrise portal. If that interests you, we'd happily introduce you to the right person at Ebix. Contact our broker support team.
